Hosted versus shipping software
So I started my Salesforce.com job. Some of my initial impressions are that writing hosted software requires a slightly different mindset than writing packaged software. You need to be a master of all the security requirements of your customers and keeping the site running becomes part of the organizational know how.

Moving on
I'm off to a new job and leaving BEA. I'm going to be working on the sforce product at Salesforce.com Time to put my money where my mouth is and build a services product :)
